About jersey jobs first

Jersey Jobs First is a New Jersey coalition of labor organizations built on a simple truth: union tradespeople live in the communities where they build major projects, including data centers.
Their families pay the utility bills, rely on the local water supplies, and travel the same roads as their neighbors—giving them a direct stake in how these projects are built and how they affect the places they call home.
Together, these workers and their neighbors share a clear expectation that major projects should create good local careers and protect the communities that host them.
Project labor agreements (PLAs) are a key tool for meeting that expectation. Negotiated before construction begins, PLAs set wages, safety standards, and dispute-resolution rules while funding the apprenticeship programs that train the next generation of New Jersey tradespeople.
Beyond PLAs, Jersey Jobs First calls for developer-paid grid costs, enforceable environmental standards, and meaningful community input before projects are approved.
The effort is organized by NEP Services along with IBEW Locals 351, 400, and 94, and UA Locals 9, 475, and 855.
